Amanda Inman has worked most of her adult life as a cosmetologist. Amanda mentored under Sara Lou Manning immediately following cosmetology school. This is where Amanda says, “I learned to really be a cosmetologist. How to read hair pictures, how to design haircuts for the individual, and how to read and understand clients spoken and unspoken request.” Amanda gained several certificates of continuing education during this time. Redken Color Specialist, Quidad Curl Specialist, and Satin Smooth Waxing Certification.
It was not until 2015 when Sara, Amanda’s long-time mentor and friend called her to help with a promotion for Sara’s growing salon that Amanda found interest in hair additions. This began with demonstrating clip on hair toppers with Sara. In 2017 after having gone back to college gaining her associates in supply chain and general education, Amanda made a few career changes. It was in 2019 that Amanda realized the corporate world was not for her. Sara reached out to Amanda again. Sara says, “I knew if she liked it [hair replacement] she’d be great at it!” Amanda says, “I still remember the client that changed it all for me. How her self-confidence and demeanor changed with her “new hair!” I couldn’t believe I was able to finally help people “feel beautiful” like I had always dreamed.”
Since having joined Custom Design Hair in 2019, Amanda has gained more education in trichology, hair replacement, and custom fitting hair systems for men and women through CRLAB located in Bologna, Italy. She has also traveled to Chicago and New York for training. In January of 2022, Amanda purchased Custom Design Hair from Sara Lou. Amanda and Sara still work together and enjoy helping people have great hair.
Amanda is the mother of four beautiful children and grandmother to two gorgeous granddaughters. Amanda is married to Scott, and they enjoy various outside activities and caring for their farm.
