Sara Lou Manning is a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas. She has worked as a cosmetologist, cosmetology instructor, hair replacement specialist, and successful salon owner and manager in downtown Rogers. Those years of experience brought to her attention the needs of those suffering from hair loss. Her focus expanded in the early 2000’s to hair addition and replacement. In 2012 Sara Lou started Custom Design Hair located in Village on the Creeks. She has helped clients suffering from hair loss due to injury, scar tissue, medical hair loss, chemotherapy, aging, and alopecia to regain their appearance and self-confidence with great hair.
Sara Lou’s passion to help clients have natural, comfortable, well-designed hair is her driving force. Her never-ending search for the best solutions has presented her the privilege of studying under some of the best hair replacement specialists in America and Europe. In her words, “I’ve loved every aspect of hairstyling. I’ve enjoyed perms, cuts, colors, men’s, women’s, and children’s styling. However, I’ve never enjoyed anything in the industry like I enjoy helping someone have great hair. My passion is to help clients have the hair they need to create the confidence they want. Sometimes that is hair and scalp treatments, but many times it is getting a hair system.”
Sara Lou is a partner of CRLAB in Bologna, Italy and active in the American Hair Loss Council. In 2019 Sara Lou began the search for a predecessor and in January of 2022 sold her business to Amanda.
Sara Lou is currently semi-retired but continues to help, train, mentor, and work . . . Whatever is needed to continue to make Custom Design Hair all it can be for the clients they serve. When not in the salon Sara Lou enjoys fun times with her ever growing family. Sara Lou and her husband Mike enjoy traveling in their RV. She is mother to three grown sons, grandmother to 12 and great grandmother to four and counting.
